Reed Travel Exhibitions has contracted Dellar Davies for four consecutive years as design consultants for the International Luxury Travel Market exhibition which takes place annually in Cannes.
Dellar Davies develops an interior design concept for the feature and public areas of the show to reflect the luxurious nature of the exhibition.
Apart from the intrinsic need to create a look that evokes luxury in travel, the interior concept needs to meet three principal considerations: provide an open and engaging space for the show’s visitors and exhibitors; instil cohesion with each year’s ILTM brand image, and most importantly create atmosphere and definition within the venue which can otherwise be dark and uninspiring for business networking.
For 2012, Dellar Davies created a rich, immersive and varied interior concept using three luxurious colour palettes taken from the ILTM 2012 show image. Seating areas defined by coloured floor areas were interspersed with floral print dividers for privacy and halo-lit feature walls that provided contrast and focal points within each room. The overall effect was of a deep, rich and engaging space that allowed exhibitors and VIP visitors to socialise freely.
The concept was rolled out across six specially designed areas including: Registration; the Participants’ Club Lounge; the Media Centre; a forum called Spotlight on Luxury; the ILTM Restaurant and a Snack Bar. Feedback from the show floor was effusive as one tweet stated: “Loving the new classy set-up of the Participants’ Lounge.”
